Animal Dig-Out
Dig for animals with your toddler using sensory materials while practicing animal names and sounds to build early communication skills.
Materials
- Animal figurines
- Sensory material (such as corn, beans, or cereal)
- A container
Instructions
- Hide the animal figurines in a container filled with sensory material.
- Show your toddler the container and encourage them to explore.
- Have your toddler dig through the material to find the animals.
- Ask your toddler to name the animal or make its sound.
Tips
Hide just a few animals at first so your toddler can keep digging, finding, and naming them without getting frustrated.
